Hermantown Community School is aware of the proposed data center project and the associated agreement between the City of Hermantown and Google, which includes a long-term financial commitment to the school district beginning in 2030. We are grateful to be considered in this agreement and recognize the potential positive impact these resources could have on our students, staff, and facilities over time.
At the same time, it is important to clarify that the school district was not involved in the negotiation process and does not play a role in decisions regarding the development itself. As such, we remain neutral regarding the project.
Our focus continues to be on providing a high-quality education for all students and being responsible stewards of any resources entrusted to the district. We will continue to monitor developments and plan thoughtfully for how future funding, if realized, can best support our schools and community.
We appreciate the community’s interest and will share information as we learn more in the future.
Students enrolled in Fundamentals of DC Circuits will use virtual reality vision goggles to complete portions of the lab experience, allowing them to engage in hands-on technical learning through emerging technology. Both courses offer students the opportunity to earn dual credit through Dunwoody while also receiving high school credit.
Families with juniors or seniors are encouraged to discuss these new course options with their students as they begin planning for next year. These additions reflect our continued commitment to expanding relevant, future-focused learning opportunities that prepare students for both college and career pathways.

Hermantown Community School will have an e-learning day Friday, March 13th. No Kids Zone.

📌 Reminder: There is no school for all students on Monday, Nov. 3 for a Staff Development Day.
Classes will resume for Elementary students on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Classes will resume for Middle School/High School students on Wednesday, Nov. 5, as there is no school for MS/HS students on Tuesday, Nov. 4 for a Teacher Work Day.
