Bryden Giesen had four hits and three RBIs to power Hermantown past Proctor 10-0 in a Lake Superior Conference softball matchup Tuesday in Proctor.
Avery Beranek earned the pitching victory for the Hawks, who improved to 4-1 overall with their fourth consecutive victory.
Hermantown is 3-0 in the Lake Superior Conference, tied with Cloquet and Rock Ridge, both 8-1 overall. The Hawks will visit Cloquet at 4:30 on Thursday, and visit North Branch on Friday and Andover on Saturday in consecutive nonconference games.

Hermantown wasted major offensive performances from Jimmy Bartsch (4-for-5) and Drew Sonneson (5 RBIs) and surrendered a five-run lead en route to a 12-10 nine-inning baseball loss against Duluth East on Tuesday afternoon at Fichtner Fields in Hermantown.
The Hawks also fell 9-2 to Grand Rapids in a Lake Superior Conference matchup later Tuesday at Fichtner, snapping a two-game winning streak.
Hermantown (3-4) will host Hibbing at 4:30 p.m. Friday and Apple Valley at 11 a.m. Saturday.
